Job Description


Business Unit: Well Testing

Summary


The Lease Operator is responsible for monitoring and reporting on production and other pertinent well information and provides maintenance on production equipment. Under general supervision, this position prepares, maintains, and submits daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure and volume of chemicals used, etc. Ensure quality control and safe operations during all aspects of the operation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Duties may include the following: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Perform basic to intermediate level pumping skills which include but not limited to: tank gauging, the proper operation of heater/treaters and 3 phase separators, and all attendant valve and oil seals and seal records.  Identify potential problems

  • Maintain oil and water tank battery equipment to ensure efficiency of oil and gas production

  • Monitor control panels during operations in order to ensure that all equipment if functioning correctly

  • Assist in basic repair and maintenance

  • Document and record accurate details relating to maintenance and emissions, ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols

  • Responsible for flow and maintenance of  wells which includes daily gauges, troubleshooting and performing maintenance on equipment as required

  • Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells and leases for which the pumper is responsible

  • Witness gauging and tests, ensuring accuracy of run tickets as required

  • Prepare, maintain and submit reports and records of daily gas volumes, well tests and injection readings

  • Ensure route is operated and maintained to maximum potential by working diligently with peers, optimizing productivity

  • Must be self-motivated, strong ethics, ability to work with minimum supervision, have reliable attendance and demonstrate flexible cooperative behavior in the workplace


Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty adequately.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • 0-2 years of operator experience

  • High School Diploma/ GED

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Energy service experience helpful

  • Exhibit ability to be a strong team player

  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select’s insurance guidelines

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 100lbs

  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions

  • Manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment

  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area

Work Environment

  • Field work environment- requires working in a variety of different weather conditions

  • Overtime as required
