*****This position will require frequent travel to Select's Operational headquarters in Gainesville, TX.*****

Summary


Senior Automation Engineer: Provides superior support to Select Energy Services Technology business unit. The duties of the position will include: Working with technology staff to developing automated solution and troubleshooting automated assets. This position will report directly to the Director of Hardware Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Works to design, build, test, and implement automation solutions for Select Energy Services.
  • Works with Technology team to troubleshoot and maintain existing automated assets.
  • Maintains and contributes to established PLC solutions for Select Energy Services.
  • Provides all aspects of support and work with a professional and positive attitude.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks with team or independently.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Confirms and QC’s technical and analytical work tasks by conducting tests; modifying as needed.
  • Maintains workflow and programming documentation for all work by writing and updating procedures.
Qualifications


The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of documented PLC programming/Automated systems/SCADA integration experience.
  • Candidate will have expert understanding of automation processes and hardware/software.
Must have demonstrable expertise in the following areas:

  • SCADA systems, Problem solving/troubleshooting, PLC programming, HMI design/programming, Wireless design/programming, Network design/protocols, electrical control system.
Desired Skills:

  • Allen Bradly PLC/HMI experience, Wiring diagnostics, advanced electronics, AutoCAD, SCADA systems, python, ladder logic, C++, SQL Databases, Ignition SCADA, Oil and Gas experience a plus.
 

Travel – 35% of the time

 

Salary Range - $100,000 to $140,000 DOQ

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment
  • Ability to hear telephone conversations and speak clearly
  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area
Work Environment:

  • Must be willing to travel on occasion
  • Traditional Monday through Friday, 8 – 5 pm, unless operational tempo and requirements dictate otherwise
  • Position works inside a climate-controlled environment a majority of the time
  • Position will travel to various field sites with austere conditions on occasion
