Job Description

Summary:

The Automation Technician will report directly
to the Operations Manager and will work closely with other operational and
technical personnel. The position will involve domestic travel outside the
region and extensive daily travel within the area. The position will be based
out of the Select Energy Services office.

Primary
Functions

  • Install a variety
    of sensors and electrical equipment in an outdoor environment

  • Ensure automation
    equipment is in proper working order

  • Interact
    professionally with onsite customer representatives

  • Work closely and
    have strong communication with coworkers, specifically as it relates to
    planning for current and future oil and gas operations

  • Use a computer
    proficiently to send reports and to create virtual automation sites using our
    software

Field Work
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, and
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or
ability required.

  • Ability to lift
    and carry 50+ pounds of equipment through rough terrain

  • Locations of
    field work include, but are not limited to:

      • Oil and gas
        leases

      • Ability to wear all required personal
        protective equipment

      • Aptitude to learn new software quickly

      • Ability to troubleshoot in the field computer
        software/ equipment issues

      • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely for
        extended periods of time

      • Ability to adapt to last minute changes and/
        or priorities of work assignments

      • Capacity to provide detailed and complete
        reports in an efficient manner

      • Provide on-site calculations of field analysis

      • Strong verbal communication, negotiation, and
        customer service skills

Recording
Keeping

  • Record and
    organize field date, time, hours, and miles for report and billing

Minimum
Qualifications

  • Preferred degree
    or certification in related field.

  • 1 year of oil and
    gas/ industrial experience (or related experience)

  • Some electrical
    or water transfer experience a plus

  • Willingness to
    grow and develop with the position as it evolves

  • High motivated
    and focused

  • Self-sufficient;
    self-starter

  • Ability to work independently
    establish priorities and complete competing assignments within required
    timeframes

  • Ability to work
    effectively in a team environment

  • Organizational
    and time management skills

  • Must have a valid
    driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle in accordance to
    Select’s policies
