Job Description 

Select’s Parts Technician is responsible for locating the proper parts, billing parts through the shop used in the repair procedure. This position is also responsible for the checking in and stocking process of parts for the fleet. In addition, the Parts Technician verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing parts using the business systems. This person will also assist in maintaining a high standard of excellence in the parts department to include personal and facility appearance.

 

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • Ensures that areas of the parts department are properly stocked.
  • Picks up and/or delivers parts when instructed by service departments.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the parts department by disposing of used boxes and trash, and dusting parts bins daily.
  • Crates all cores for shipment back to the manufacturer when part has been replaced.
  • Responsible for maintenance and inventory of shop tools, assist with the check in and check out. Ensure that shop tools are in good repair.
  • Assists the service department by moving vehicles/equipment as needed and delivering to other repair facilities for sublet repairs.
  • Sources parts from various vendors.

  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge.
  • Must be proficient with computer skills, including use of Web to obtain information on various vendors for servicing our fleet.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select's insurance guidelines.

Compensation Information

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

 

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to individually lift: Maximum 50 lbs.
